A) REQUIREMENTS TO RENT A CAR
- Minimum age to rent a car is 25 years. There is no maximum age limit.
- The client and any additional driver must submit original and current driver’s license. The driver’s license must be valid at the time of rental, and remain valid throughout the rental period. Veico Car Rental reserves the right to verify and accept driver’s licenses according to the standards set by the company and deny rental if the document does not meet our requirements.
- A valid official ID, IFE / INE (for Mexican citizens) or current passport (foreigners).
- Proof of adress. (Property tax receipt or utility bill)
- Credit card. Veico Car Rental accepts the following credit cards: VISA, Master Card, Diners Club International and Discover. We reserve the right to refuse some credit cards from special programs, in poor condition or illegible. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH OR CREDIT CARDS ISSUED BY DEPARTMENT STORES .
- It is important to consider that Veico Car Rental requires that the driver’s license, credit card and identification (IFE / INE or passport) have at least one year from the issue date.
- Veico Car Rental reserves the right to decline the reservation, and therefore the rental of the vehicle if the customer does not satisfactorily meet the company requirements.
B) ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
Additional drivers must be over 25 years old and must present a valid driver’s license. The additional driver will be subject to the same obligations as client and jointly responsible for third party liability and for damages to the rented vehicle.
Additional drivers Fee: MXN$ 50/per day tax included.
C) CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION HOLD POLICY (ESCROW POLICY)
Veico Car Rental, does not accept cash for guarantee deposits in any currency, only Credit Cards on which an authorization hold will be secured at the time of rental (DEPOSIT), to cover the estimated rental charges and any additional charges that may be incurred. The amount withheld will be for the total rental estimate (including fees, taxes, and optional services) plus the amounts stipulated in the following table:

D) RETURNING THE VEHICLE IN OTHER CITY (“DROP-FF” o “ONE-WAY”)
This charge is extra and is independent of the total price of the reservation or lease, the cost depends on the distance between the pick-up location and the drop-off location. If the One-Way service is requested no later than when the contract is signed, the charge will be MXN$19.00 per kilometre, based on the distance indicated on the website “Traza tu Ruta” of the Transportation Ministry. Should the One-Way Service be requested at any point after the signing of the contract, the charge will be MXN$28.50 per kilometre. This charge does not include parking costs, valet parking or any similar service used by the customer to leave the vehicle.
Gasoline is not included in the rental price. The vehicle must be returned with the same level of gasoline it was received according to what is stipulated in the rental agreement. Customer will receive no credit or refund for returning the vehicle with more gasoline in the tank than when it was picked-up. If there is a gasoline shortage, it will be charged at MXN$32 per litre.
We recommend using our Prepaid Fuel service to save time and money.
F) EXTRA HOURS
The minimum rental charge is for one day and is based on a 24-hour period. When returning the vehicle, there is a 30 minute grace period. After the grace period there will be a MXN$180.00 charge for each hour, from the time the vehicle was rented, up to a maximum of 3 hours. After 3 hours of delay, a full day will be charged at the available rate.
G) VEHICLE RETURN AND RENTAL AGREEMENT EXTENSION
The time and place agreed and covered by the lease , to return the car , the date may be changed upon request and with prior authorization of Veico Car Rental. In case of breach of this provision by the client , in addition to the charges resulting therefrom , Veico Car Rental shall be entitled to then terminate the contract immediately and bring actions necessary to physically repossess the car wherever that it is and from whoever is driving it.
Any changes to your reservation can be made through the same channel it was created it, with at least 2 hours before the reserved pick-up time.
Non-prepaid reservations are only available until 2 hours after the confirmed time.
For online or telephone prepaid reservations , the customer’s name that appears on the reservation must match the credit card holder; for now it is not possible to pre-pay a reservation for a different person than the cardholder. Any reservation prepaid, where there is a difference between the name on the credit card and the customer’s name appears on the reservation may be canceled by Veico Car Rental without notice and without liability to the company.
Reservations guaranteed by credit card or Prepaid will remain active throughout the business day.
If you no longer require the reserved service, please cancel your reservation through the same channel it was created, with a minimum of 24 hours; if there is a prepayment, the refund of the amount paid will be full.
Failure to cancel your reservation with a minimum of 24 hours, will result in a charge equivalent to one rental day to the credit card used.
I) NON-SMOKING POLICY
To provide our customers with odor-free vehicles , smoking is prohibited in our vehicles. If the vehicle is returned with cigarette odor or waste , a MXN$1500 charge for cleaning and deodorizing will be assessed.
J) TRAFFIC FINES
According to the terms of the contract, the customer is responsible for the payment of traffic fines occurred during the period in which he/she was in possession of the vehicle . These amounts will be charged to the customer’s credit card, when the vehicle is returned or at any time thereafter .
K) MISSING KEYS, PLATES OR VEHICLE’S REGISTRATION CARD
Keys, vehicle’s registration card and plates are not included in any coverage, therefore the customer must pay the following amounts in case of loss or damage :

Plates: MXN$2920 (each)
L) ASSOCIATED SERVICE OPERATORS
Veico Car Rental is proud to provide directly to its customers the services and products it offers through veico.com. However, in certain destinations during certain periods, some of our services may be operated by one of our commercial partners. In this case, Veico Car Renal guarantees that the agreed terms and conditions will not be modified by the service operator and you that will enjoy the same benefits as when receiving the service directly from Veico Car Rental.
